Alan Eugeni is no stranger to change. After earning both a commerce degree (1984) and a mechanical engineering degree (1986) from McGill University, he held various technical positions at Bombardier and GM. Deciding to steer his career towards sales and marketing, he completed an MBA and went to work in the telecommunications industry, becoming regional director for Middle East and Africa at Teleglobe Canada by 1995. In 1996, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and became a marketing consultant to several high-technology startups, covering sales across Europe and the Caribbean. Following the high-tech bust of the early 2000s, he switched gears once more and founded a successful closet manufacturing business. In 2009, he sold that business to begin flight training and pursue a lifelong dream to fly. In 2015, he was hired by Air Canada Express and became type-rated on the Bombardier CRJ200. The following year, he was promoted captain. An unconventional free-thinker, he still hasn't decided what he wants to be when he grows up.
With his deep technical and academic background, a varied professional experience and exposure to business practices in over 50 countries, Alan Eugeni brings an unusual, refreshing and outsider perspective to the aviation industry.
He is currently busy as a writer, aviation consultant and corporate contract pilot based in Montreal, QC. When not working, he can be found running, teaching Kyokushin Karate and playing with his 3-year old son.
